The Internal Revenue Code (IRC) establishes various limits on retirement plan benefits and contributions. On October 21, 2015, the IRS published the limits for 2016, which are generally effective for limitation years beginning on or after January 1, 2016. This research memorandum presents the key limits for 2016 and compares them with the 2015 limits. In addition, it reports the 2016 and 2015 values for Social Security Maximum Taxable Earnings.
